Weekly Photo Challenge: Abandoned

Trinity has been sick the past three days.  I made a doctor appointment for her this afternoon, and, of course, she’s feeling better an hour before said appointment.  Isn’t that how it always goes?  I don’t really think she needs to see a doctor; it seems like a viral stomach thing.  However, she needs an excuse for school.  So, off the the doctor we’ll go!

Doctors make me anxious.  Really, really anxious.

Instead of focusing on that, though, I’m going to get to the photo challenge!  This week’s weekly photo challenge from The Daily Post is Abandoned.

I immediately thought of my favorite abandoned playground, but wanted to share a few other places.  Here are my photos for Abandoned:

Abandoned Boardwalk

Besides being closed, this section of the Atlantic City boardwalk was also abandoned because it was 6am.

Abandoned Playground

I love this place.

Abandoned Beach

I find this slightly creepy.

Do you have any photos of abandoned places?

I love to craft. I love to sew. I just.... love to create in general. I also am pretty fond of adventuring, of exploring new places. I'm shy when I first meet people, but once I'm comfortable with them, you can't shut me up. I'm crazy and silly. I have an unhealthy obsession with dinosaurs.

  5. That last photo is quite creepy – a horror film image…

  6. Oh yeah, that last photo with the submerged beach closed sign is creepy. Something about the murky water…
Hope Trinity is feeling better soon! (If she’s still feeling sick, that is..)

The funny thing is that it was at this really pretty park. I just happened to look down and see that sign. So weird!

Thanks! She’s feeling much better now. Doctor confirmed it to be a stomach virus.

Great pics… and you’re right – the last one is well creepy!

  9. Great photos! Looking at that first photo – would say the boardwalk was closed for good reason – it looks like it will collapse at any moment.

Thank you! Yeah, they were in the process of redoing that portion. That was taken only a few months before Sandy knocked that portion out, though. So, at least it saved them demolition costs?

She’s feeling better finally. It was a viral stomach bug, which is what I thought it was. Doctors are no help for that, but at least she got an excuse for school.
